Here lately my mind has sunk its teeth onto something that tolle mentioned in his book. somewhat paraphrased.
Nothing you do or person you be with will make you happy.
I can see the truth to this but my mind seems to want to get the microscope out on this one and cause lots of grief. It keeps asking well WTF should we be doing then? (or whats the point)
Its been many years since I read it but the book of ecclesiastes I think covers some of topic.
I can kind of see where your coming from where you talk about socializing.
health, wealth and relationships. they say. If theres problems in those areas then try working on correcting them. You get em and still not happy. sometimes. haha.
needy frame of mind. what about a 'wanty' frame of mind? lol. desire, maybe its just a needy/owe me point of view in disquise?
All i know is im gonna keep riding bmx hard and beating the drums in the ground. 10 years and still going strong just have to keep sweating it out. Professional sweater eh? I guess thats the goal 
I know this post is kind of disjunct but would like to hear some comments. |

I do suspect that your line of questioning is not entirely honest.
Your "desire" to know the ethernal truth is no existential; your are probably just fooling arround bored or beeing just curiouse.
But I will indulge you this time

The Mind device always does this kind of actions.
The real problem is not the mind device itself but your identification with it.
Practically you belive that you are in fact your mind... OR to be more exact the ability to consciently emit and analyze thoughts and to observe thoughts and the physical souroundings.
Let's suppose that all your problems are magically or technologically solved today ...(ie health, wealth and relations as you define it)
Do you really belive that your seek for happiness will end there?
The problem is that you did not yet experience or understand that there is something "else" above or beyond the mind device. You do not really "know" that there is "something" above your mind / thought process.

The answer is simple: do what you have to do... and do nothing more.
About the "point"

There is nothing to be done.
And it can not be copied from others (this is the great difference and safety meassure). You just have to drop what you are not... and this is very hard but apparently easy in the same time.
There is no happiness without it. But Once you obtain peace "you" do not exist anymore and beacuse of this there is nobody there to "do something" anymore. Instead Existence will "do you".

You could treat the mind device "well" and like a good dog... take it out for a "ride" once in a while or give it a job.
Basically use it when it is needed... stop it the moment when it is not needed ... like any device.
But never identify yourself with the device itself.
Like when use your TV or laptop or cell phone... but you are not them.... hopefully

Practically I use words...ie "thoughts" emited by my mind device that tries to find the best possible examples and metaphors for something that is beyond mind and thought and can not be explained at this level.
Depending on the interlocutor some words are better than others and my presence can eventually help...
However on internet forums the same words will be read by many beeings and I have to adjust for this ...
Hence it is bound to be translation errors from "eternity" to the mind and from the mind to words ... and it is very hard to understand from words... even if the words look simple or attractive.
But I have heard that it is possible... hence from compassion I keep trying... However I am yet to see somebody that did understand from words...
I have had the priviledge to known a few that "obtained" this peace from their own personal / honest and persistent efforts... sometimes apparently alone ... sometimes with clear help from a Master ....
But that effort must come from an existential "desire" so strong and so honest that it can be no other task or targets ...

Who is "they"  ? that statement is very good for slaves...
- Relationships keep you from evolving.
- Wealth keeps you busy and produceing for slave masters
- Health keeps you afraid of disease, pain and Death..
This is the basic trio of maipulation of the salves.
I have offten seen peace in solitude (not the same as alone)... I have seen peace rarely in solitude in the middle of a "group" but I have never seen peace in relationships.
I have seen peace in death or close to death... even in extreeme pain... but almost never in fully "healthy" people.
I have seen peace in poor people but never in wealthy people.
Yes, it is possible to learn without suffering... but unfortunately human beeings "choose" by "own free will" to use suffering and favour those great teachers like: pain, disease, old age and death instead of doing some personal honest efforts towards eternal.
DEATH will wipe out all of your non-honest problems is a split seccond

All of the problems we have come from desire. In order to understand you have to go beyond mind.

Yeah right... you will eventually meet old age, pain and Death...hopefully... beacuse otherwise you will not learn a thing.

This is not abnormal for this planet
Well, now you do have your "comments"... and I have found the time to split this post from where is was disjunct but part of a group with other posts ... and put it here ...
Now it stands ... in "solitude"
