F.A.Q.

Q:How do i play a network game?

Answer (create):

  • Click the rotating planet choose "Create Net Game" option
  • Choose IPX for LAN (if installed) or TCP/IP (most likely)
  • Wait for others (better talk with them before) to join your game
  • If your IP is routed to internet, game will be visible to internet also
  • Choose options, wait a bit for them to propagate to clients, then start game
  • If game stalls/crashes press F4 - to disconect

    Answer (Join):

  • basically same steps as above but you first must edit the he_servers.txt file in the \bin folder and add the IP of the server (guy who created the game) in the list. The first commented line in the file is required! Get the IP via chat, email, phone or ICQ/AIM/etc.
  • After the click on the TCP/IP box choose the IP of the server from the listbox on the right.

Internet play is still experimental... so take care

Q: Will there be a Linux or Unix version?

    A:YES

We will sure make a FreeBSD and a Linux version after the Windows version is ready However first Unix versions will run only on Intel(c) architecture

    Why all in ASM?

What are the NEW things in this game?

Here are some of them (not all curently implemented):

    Will it work on Laptops?

    Yes.

What is the minimum recomended machine for normal play?

This is subject to everyday changes...but curently:

Are there 2 versions? Low and High?

Not anymore. There used to be but game was optimised so much that it is not necessary anymore.
